about Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz.

If anyone deserves to come home to a space where color takes a back seat, it's Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz. The Maestro of Technicolor Monochromatic interiors works with a LOT of color by day, so by night, the color wheel gets dialed down. But he doesn't leave his high-style attitude at the door (with his street shoes). How does he do it?

I had the great fortune of speaking with Benjamin about his own home in Chelsea for ApartmentTherapy.com. We talked abut the very personal choices that make up the space he shares with lighting designer Steven WIne, which colors work best with kids and families (you'll be surprised), why he thinks Puerto RIco's rolling green hills are alive with inspiration, keeping the monotony out of monochrome, and how a few well-trained roosters taught him a thing or two about bravado, beauty and humor. Seriously. Listen now!
